The GPI will have a virtual booth during the 11th Global South-South Development Expo, organised by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), together with the Government of Thailand and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

VI. Regional Conference on Triangular Co-operation
The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the GIZ Regional Fund for Triangular Cooperation with partners in Latin America and the Caribbean will host the 6th Regional Conference on Triangular Co-operation on 7 and 8 September, in Berlin and online.

PIFCSS Diploma on South-South and Triangular Co-operation
PIFCSS Diploma on South-South and Triangular Co-operation
The PIFCSS holds a diploma for officials from institutions that manage and implement international co-operation from its 21 members focused on South-South and Triangular Co-operation. The 5th edition has 140 participants. On the 24 June the GPI contributed in the virtual lecture “Institutions and mechanisms to promote South-South and Triangular Cooperation after COVID-19”.

Brainstorming session on steps from political support to project implementation
The GPI is partnering with the German Fund for Triangular Co-operation with Asia to advance policy dialogue and support capacity development on triangular co-operation with Asian partners. To have a consultation on this endeavour, the GPI organised a strategic brainstorming on Triangular Co-operation with Asia: Steps from Political Support to Project Implementation, on 23 May. The event gathered in Berlin and online more 30 experts from development agencies, private sector, research institutions and civil society organizations as an opportunity to promote dialogue and exchange with representatives from politics, business and civil society organisations, aiming to share experiences and views.

Norec webinar on South-South and Triangular co-operation
The Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (Norec) organised on 20 April an internal event on South-South and Triangular co-operation. The webinar addressed how these partnerships can help reach the SDGs. The GPI was one of the speakers, highlighting the impact of such a platform and the relevance of strategic partnerships for sharing knowledge, skills and expertise.

Webinar – Launch ADELANTE Window 2022
Webinar – Launch ADELANTE Window 2022
On 26 April, the European Union opened the ADELANTE Window 2022. The Window was presented a few days earlier in a webinar with more than 300 participants from 38 countries, from both Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean. The Window was a great success, with more than 40 submissions and closed on 16 May, due to the depleted annual budget. The Window will re-open in 2023!

The Global Partnership Initiative on Effective Triangular Co-operation is a platform to advocate for and promote effective triangular cooperation in support of the 2030 Agenda. These objectives are advanced by members through the (1) Advocacy Work stream, which has elaborated a set of Voluntary Guidelines for Effective Triangular Co-operation and a contemporary understanding; (2) Analytical Work stream, which has collected and analysed more than 100 case studies from GPI members and produced reports on these and other findings; and, (3) Operational Work stream, which is creating spaces to share lessons learned on implementing effective triangular co-operation in a consistent and consolidated manner.
